26 July : Celebration and mourning : Two sides of the same coin

Ae mere watan ke logon…
Zara ankh mein bhar lo pani…
Jo shaheed hue hain unki…
Zara yaad kart kurbaani…
It’s been 17 years that we won the Kargil War with Pakistan.
But what has changed since then ?
Has infiltration from Pakistan stopped ? NO.
Has terror attacks minimised ? NO.
*Rather Pakistan gave us 26/11 to mourn on.
*Pakistan attacked our Parliament and mocked us.
*Every day infiltrations, terror attacks, ruckus over kashmir… continues. *Pakistan has never been a resourceful neighbour, nor a fruitful country on the world map.

The Kargil war resulted in the death of hundreds of soldiers on both Indian and Pakistani sides. Thousands were also injured. Several war inflicted families are battling the repercussions of the war even after 17 years. It’s always good to celebrate victory but what about those families who have been remembering this day every year for missing their loved ones, although with pride.
